When I look at content that gets popular my brain instantly looks at it and goes... Can this scale? Then whether i say yes or know I start breaking down the details. Details being... Does this type of content take a long time to make? Is it expensive to produce? How much time does it take to film? How much time does it take to edit? Can I replicate this style for atleast 100 videos? How much mental load does it take? This is a filter I encourage you to evaluate before you embark on that content styles path. One style I was and am still fascinated with is the build in public style. I know you have seen them... Day one of... Starting a software company from scratch. Watch me grow to 1m followers in 100 days. BTS of a "X" founder doing "Y" I mean I have tried this style before and ultimately failed. Reason being... When most people do this they dont ralize the bigger obstacle at play.. They dont realize they are starting 2 insanely hard things to do at once. 1) it is really hard to grow a social media following. 2) its really hard to strat and grow a business/company. Now I am not one to shy away from hard work... I mean hell I stayed up for 24hrs and filmed edited and posted 115 videos. I Stayed up another time for 24hrs to live document a catagory 5 hurricane. But building a company and documenting everything at the same time is incredibly hard. I mean whos gonna film you? Whos gonna come up with the ideas? Whos gonna stay up at the end of the day to edit it all together? Thats where it gets interesting... When people start this they have no idea how much time it takes to not only build a company but also document it. Its like 5 fulltime jobs. and lets face it. Those doing this do not have the resources to hire anyone to help. I mean they are starting from scratch. I think this realization is why you dont see too many of these accounts anymore. ...and the ones that made it? Well they had alot of cash reserves and help to "do the documenting". Just something to think about. Before you hop on something that is popular run it thru those questions from above. Really think about it. It will save you a ton of time and frustration. This is why I love Speed to post. Its not a huge mental load to take out your iphone and film. Its not expensive to take out your iphone and film. You can def do 100 of them. It takes less than 20min to film edit and post. And my favorite one. It grows your following based on the one thing that no one can take from. Your ideads, thoughts, and personality. Give it try. Talk Soon, Ryan P.S. If you already purchased Speed To Post and want to see some of the others products i offer I made this loom video. |
it infuriates me that 99% off the world thinks that making videos is the hard part. It's not. The hard is building a machine that makes them when.. You are burnt out. You are busy. You are working on something else. You are pissed off. You are happy. You are sad. Etc... You see content is a operations business disguised and a creative one. Businesses could care less about how you feel and need content no matter what. The sad truth is most will never make enough content to learn this. The...
One of the most annoying problems with content and making videos comes pretty quickly for those truly trying to build a Business With content. Now to be clear if you are solo person making 1-3 videos and posting them to one or 2 platforms this wont effect you. But if you are like myself and others and you are posting 3-6+ times a day across multiple platforms this is what will drive you insane. Its the Actual posting of the videos. Yup...i said it. POSTING. It pains me to say that truthfully...
I have been thinking a lot about this lately. You see for the last 10 years the content itself was the product. You needed a fancy camera. You needed to know how to edit. You needed to manually type out the subtitles :) Heck you used to have to drive to the Apple store and buy a box that said Final Cut Pro and it cost $600 bucks. Now before you get mad hear me out. This is what I call a higher barrier of entry. In most cases the h igher barrier of entry the better the reward for doing the...
