Id be lying if I said i did'nt spend alot of nights staring at the fan thinking about content. Its not healthy but its my reality. For 5 years short form content is all I have lived breathed and produced at a scale many have said is impossible to sustain and quite frankly they are probly right. But lately I have been trying to figure out whats next. meaning... What type of content or style or format will reign supreme. So here are my thoughts. 1) The barrier of entry and expectation is on the floor. With the rise of "Yapping" now the norm is simply you talking face to camera on your phone. This although is awesome as there is zero production costs to scale this type of format it also means anyone and everyone can do it. I have racked up over 20 million doing just this. Its also my highest performing ad I have right now. So with this said I will be doing alot more. This is why I created "Speed To Post" because right now the more of these you can get out of your head and on the internet the better. 2) Good speakers will prevail. TO piggy back off #1 if anyone... if everyone is doing something well then the ones that are actually good at speaking will rise to the top. For me speaking well involves actually knowing your subject matter with utmost confidence and experience while also being able to deliver it in a concise and confident manner. The only way to get better at this is to simply do more reps. Hence why I simply follow my speed to post' system and crank these out. And lastly.. 3) There will be a high value in hard to get or do content. I have always lived by a rule when it comes to creating content... If it is hard to travel to or get to it will always perform better. and... If it hard to get access to or pay for it will perform better. Think about.. Money and experience is access. Time investement and commitment is expensive and gives access. That is why I will be spending more time trying to do things that are hard to do.. Examples of this.. Street interviewing strangers in unique places. Traveling for different podcasts outside of current areas of expertice. And also... Traveling to make content in different and unique places. Speed to post covers the first 2 here... But the other 2 come down to travel, creativity, and most likely finances. Hope this helps. But when you play the game of content you have to do things to stay ahead. If you want to get better i would start here. Talk Soon, Ryan |
it infuriates me that 99% off the world thinks that making videos is the hard part. It's not. The hard is building a machine that makes them when.. You are burnt out. You are busy. You are working on something else. You are pissed off. You are happy. You are sad. Etc... You see content is a operations business disguised and a creative one. Businesses could care less about how you feel and need content no matter what. The sad truth is most will never make enough content to learn this. The...
One of the most annoying problems with content and making videos comes pretty quickly for those truly trying to build a Business With content. Now to be clear if you are solo person making 1-3 videos and posting them to one or 2 platforms this wont effect you. But if you are like myself and others and you are posting 3-6+ times a day across multiple platforms this is what will drive you insane. Its the Actual posting of the videos. Yup...i said it. POSTING. It pains me to say that truthfully...
I have been thinking a lot about this lately. You see for the last 10 years the content itself was the product. You needed a fancy camera. You needed to know how to edit. You needed to manually type out the subtitles :) Heck you used to have to drive to the Apple store and buy a box that said Final Cut Pro and it cost $600 bucks. Now before you get mad hear me out. This is what I call a higher barrier of entry. In most cases the h igher barrier of entry the better the reward for doing the...
